North Korea Announces New Nuclear Plans
Yesterday, North Korean military officials sent a warning to the US and its allies by announcing that it will conduct further nuclear weaponry tests. These strikes have deeply concerned North Korea’s closest neighbors Japan and South Korea, but for the most part, this latest threat is being taken quietly. North Korea quit the “Six Party Talks” – which aimed at finding solutions to convince North Korea to terminate its nuclear programs peacefully – last year, and has not expressed any interest in returning to negotiations with Russia, China, South Korea, Japan and the US since then.
North Korea has repeatedly maintained that it will conduct more nuclear tests that, potentially endangering neighboring nations. Although North Korea remains an isolated nation with virtually no friendly relations, diplomacy or trade with other countries, the latest announcement made by North Korea is neither becoming more antagonistic nor becoming more focused on achieving peace.
