Presidential Politics in Palin’s Alaska
Whether or not the former-Governor aims to land in the White House is, as of yet, unclear. Her place in living rooms across the country, however, is definite and quickly approaching.
Set to air later this week, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” is being billed as a mix between travelogue and documentary. Needless to say, the show will prominently feature the Mrs. Palin herself. The precise content—and Palin’s exact goals—remain ambiguous, however.
Regardless of whether or not Palin has presidential ambitions of her own, she is clearly inclined towards public exposure. This much is obvious. In that vein, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” makes perfect sense.
As for politics, though, things are a bit more muddled. Remaining in the spotlight is clearly in any aspiring politician’s best interest, but one has to wonder whether all spotlights are created equal. Given the bevy of overtly personal attacks with which Mrs. Palin has been met in the past, it appears that only time will tell.
