Italian Ministers Step Down
Four members of the Italian cabinet have resigned, following a wake of scandals related to Silvio Berlusconi, Italy’s Prime Minister. The four members are supporters of Gianfranco Fini, who was the speaker of the Parliament before he resigned earlier this year. Berlusconi, a controversial figure, has been urged to leave office but remains steadfast. In light of the deepening political crisis, however, he may have no choice but to either resign or hold early elections. He has stated his confidence of winning the latter if it were to take place, though others are not so sure.
The most recent controversy surrounding the Prime Minister was an allegation of inappropriate conduct with a teenage nightclub dancer.
