In 1987, Anna Alwoch, 65, had her lips cut off in front of her children by the Lord’s Resistance Army, the same day the rebels killed her husband and in 2002 they killed her son. She lives with other internally displaced people near Lacor Hospital in Gulu, September 30, 2006. There are close to two million people displaced in northern Uganda as a result of the 20-year war between the Ugandan Government and the LRA. Despite the trauma she has gone through Anna wants the LRA rebels to be forgiven for the sake of achieving peace. (Vanessa Vick/MCT)
